St. Thérèse Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered Middle School Math Teacher to join our growing Catholic school community. Our mission is to provide an exceptional, faith-filled education for students with diverse learning needs through innovative instruction, meaningful relationships, and individualized support.
The ideal candidate is passionate about mathematics, believes all students can succeed, and is committed to using differentiated instruction to help learners build confidence and develop strong mathematical reasoning skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned math instruction for students in grades 4–8.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of diverse learners.
- Utilize small-group instruction, station rotation, hands-on learning, and technology to increase student engagement.
- Analyze student data to inform instruction and monitor academic growth.
- Collaborate with interventionists, therapists, and fellow educators to support student success.
- Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress.
- Foster a structured, positive classroom environment rooted in Catholic values, respect, and high expectations.
- Participate actively in the faith life and mission of the school.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Elementary Education, Middle Grades Education, or a related field (Louisiana teaching certification preferred or eligibility to obtain certification).
- Strong knowledge of middle school mathematics and effective instructional practices.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with differentiated instruction, exceptional learners, or inclusive classrooms is preferred but not required.
- Practicing Catholic preferred; all applicants must support the mission and values of Catholic education.
