K/1 Lead Teacher St. Therese Academy - Elementary

St. Thérèse Academy is seeking a compassionate, creative, and dedicated Kindergarten/First Grade Teacher to join our growing Catholic school community. Our mission is to provide an exceptional, faith-filled education for students with diverse learning needs in a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child is known, valued, and challenged to reach their full potential.

The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, believes in meeting students where they are, and enjoys creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences that foster academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth.

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned with Louisiana Student Standards.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet a variety of learning needs and abilities.
  • Utilize small-group instruction, learning stations, and evidence-based instructional practices.
  • Collaborate with interventionists, therapists, and support staff to ensure student success.
  • Maintain open, positive communication with families regarding student progress.
  • Foster a structured, joyful classroom rooted in Catholic values and positive relationships.
  • Assess student growth using standards-based practices and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate fully in the faith life and mission of the school.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field (Louisiana teaching certification preferred or eligibility to obtain certification).
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to collaboration, innovation, and continuous professional growth.
  • Experience with differentiated instruction, exceptional learners, or inclusive classrooms is preferred but not required.
  • Practicing Catholic preferred; all applicants must support the mission and values of Catholic education.
