St. Thérèse Academy is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Elementary Teacher Assistant to join our growing Catholic school community. Our mission is to provide an exceptional, faith-filled education for students with diverse learning needs in a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
The Elementary Teacher Assistant plays an essential role in supporting classroom instruction and helping create a positive, engaging learning environment for all students.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist the classroom teacher with daily instruction and classroom activities.
- Support individual students and small groups during lessons and intervention activities.
- Help prepare instructional materials, classroom centers, and learning stations.
- Encourage positive student behavior and reinforce classroom expectations.
- Assist with supervision during arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and other school activities as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, interventionists, and support staff to meet the needs of all learners.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Support the faith-filled mission and daily life of the school.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; associate degree, bachelor's degree, or coursework in education preferred.
- Experience working with children is preferred.
- Patient, flexible, and able to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs is preferred but not required.
