Candidates should enjoy working with young children and infants. They should be flexible and willing to work with a positive attitude with other staff members. Candidates should assist in the physical, emotional and spiritual development of the children in their care and uphold the Catholic Identity standards. The Early Learning Center operates year around. The hours of operation are 7am to  6pm.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Actively supervise the children in your care at all times.
  • Uphold and communicate the philosophy and mission of St. Philip Neri Early Learning Center.
  • Assist in the physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual development of the children placed in our care.
  • Foster learning by developing a close caring, secure relationship between child and caregiver.
  • Provide a safe environment and promote healthy practices and choices.
  • Continue pursuing best practices in child development in order to continue to be a knowledgeable and responsive caregiver.
  • Perform any duties/responsibilities designated by the Director.
  • Know and comply with the minimum standards for childcare outlined in Louisiana Department of Education Bulletin 137.
  • Uphold the policies and procedures outlined in the St. Philip Neri Early Learning Center Faculty Handbook.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Enjoy working with children
  • Be able to lift large toddlers, bend and sit on the floor.

Important Information

  • In order for the candidate to be hired, the candidate will have to be fingerprinted and pass a background check. Additionally, the candidate will be required to take a "Safe Environment" class offered by the Archdiocese and update that certification every three years.
