St. Cletus Catholic School is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and student-centered School Counselor to support the academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and spiritual development of our students within a faith-filled Catholic school community.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and small-group counseling to support students' social-emotional, behavioral, and academic needs.

  • Assist teachers and administrators with behavior intervention plans, student concerns, and classroom support strategies.

  • Collaborate with teachers, resource personnel, administration, and parents to develop appropriate supports for students.

  • Coordinate and maintain Student Evaluation Adjustment Plans, including meetings, documentation, accommodations, and communication with families and teachers.

  • Support students experiencing family changes, grief, anxiety, peer conflicts, or other challenges affecting their success at school.

  • Provide academic counseling and guidance for middle school students, including assistance with the Catholic high school admissions and application process.

  • Serve as a resource for teachers and staff regarding student social-emotional wellness, behavior, and classroom concerns.

  • Communicate and partner with parents to support the needs and overall well-being of their children.

  • Assist with crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and student safety concerns when needed.

  • Maintain appropriate student records and confidentiality in accordance with school, Archdiocesan, and professional guidelines.

  • Work closely with the principal and school leadership team to promote a safe, supportive, faith-centered school culture where every child can grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field preferred.

  • Appropriate professional certification/licensure preferred.

  • Experience working with elementary and/or middle school-aged children.

  • Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

  • Commitment to supporting the mission and Catholic identity of St. Cletus Catholic School.
